  • This girl I know needs some shelter…

    I have been so excited to make this post! Millie and I jumped way out of our comfort zones with this one. We each have our favorite head, body, and skin and we usually stick with them. I know, I know, how boring! But when The Illusia Collection came out at last months’ Kustom9, we were excited to change it up a bit and see what we could come up with. It took us awhile, but we were able to put together two ethereal looks using skins from [Glam Affair], Not Found and Mellow Elie’s Illusia Bodysuit we both loved. That paired with The Kiwi Co.’s Celeste Noir Angel Wings turned us into a couple of airy mood guardians. You would not believe the number of side quests involved in doing this. It was a lot of fun for us both!

  • She’s the bigger person, my little sister…

    It’s officially the time of year where I’m not leaving the house once I get home. And sometimes you just need some down time anyways. That’s where Millie and I are today. I feel like I’ve been running in a circle for two weeks and she’s not feeling great either today, so we blew off as many responsibilities as we could and collapsed into a sister puddle in her blanket fort. So grateful for my sissy and how she is always there for me, even when I’ve not been the best version of myself for awhile.

  • She’s over-bored, and self-assured…

    Millie and I were over-bored and not so self-assured last night, sitting around reminiscing about that time we tried out to be cheerleaders in Nirvana’s Smells Like Teen Spirit Video. I know I’m aging us here, but I promise, it’s true. They totally promised us the next time they needed cheerleaders, they’d let us know! Okay, I fully admit, we were smoking while talking, so some of the facts not be completely accurate…but we totally deserve it, because we’re amazing. ❤

  • Pretty in pink…isn’t she?

    If I wrote about all the side quests Millie and I went on trying to make this pic, you wouldn’t read it, so I’ll keep it simple. The Moonchild sisters so desperately wanted a SpOoPy SeAsOn, they changed their last names to Misery for the month. We also spent the better part of the month trying to find “Misery Twins” costumes and never found anything we loved. So, yeah we basically spent the whole spoopy season looking for spoopy instead of being spoopy. Luckily, our baby sister Ellie, got married on Halloween with a Tim Burton theme. This may have saved us from the unspoopiest spoopy season of all time. Hopefully we can get a pic of those costumes to share because that was so fun. I kinda just wanna walk around as Edwina Scissorhands all the time now. Biggest of congrats to baby sis, Ellie! We love youuuu! ❤

  • What’s your favorite scary movie?

    Not sure if you guys noticed or not, but there’s been a huge influx of Ghostface pics floating around social media these last couple weeks. As not to be outdone by AI, I felt like now was the right time to share this story and pic. Plus we’re nearly halfway through goth pride month and I haven’t posted anything spoopy, so here we go.

    The original idea for this pic started as something entirely different. Awhile ago, I mentioned that we’d be be ready for an influx of Ghostface again this year, and it seems I predicted correctly. I had planned to do your typical scantily clad girl, running from Ghostface kinda pic until Millie got involved. As we were talking about it, we started remembering how stupid funny the parody, Scary Movie, actually was and I’m so happy we went this direction instead. I knew she meant business when she pulled out Officer Quakers from Aardvark. I mean, honestly. Officer Doofy does not get enough love. Sure, he’s obsessed with vacuum cleaners and he always has a snot bubble, but none of that matters. He’s trying to protect and serve, folks. We should all look up to him. All credit to Millie for bringing the focus back around to where it matters – Officer Doofy (reporting for duty).

  • A rumbly in my tumbly

    Millie and I spent the morning in our garden with our bees and weed plants. What? You didn’t think all we do is shop, did you? No, no..we are very busy doing other very important things. Like collecting honey from our bee hives for the Farmer’s Market just down the road. First we have to test and make sure our cannabis is ready for consumption. That’s our favorite part. Obviously we then have to taste the honey and package it up for the market. Very tough job.

    Anywaaay, after our chores, we decided to go and do a little of what we do best. You guessed it! Shop. I wanted to take this opportunity to show off one of Mellow Elie‘s newest releases, the Grimrose Sweater.   • Take a look, it’s in a book…

    Millie and I are avid readers (read: giant nerds). I had been mulling over the idea of starting an SL based book club for a couple months and after talking with my sisters, (all FOUR of them), they convinced me to go ahead and give it a go. Thus, The Moonchild Literary Collective was born. The concept is pretty simple right now. We’re reading one book each month and meeting twice during that month to discuss. The second and last meeting of the month will be themed and we hope those participating will come dressed at their favorite character from the book we’re reading. I won’t say much more about it here, other than we’re all super excited to start in October. You can find out more info about the book club at the link above!

    I also wanted to take a moment to point out this adorable Little Bookshop from Dust Bunny. This was available at Anthology last month and I just haven’t had the right time to show it off. I love how all would need to do is hitch this up to your truck and have your very own collection of adventures everywhere you go. Maybe we can take our book club on the road!

    We both forgot to get our outfit credits, but I can tell you that we’re both wearing the recent Opalite jeans release from Kiwi. No, I don’t have every pair of jeans I have in SL memorized. I just know this is the pair I was obsessed with. And still am.

  • All dressed up…

    Millie and I were invited to a friends birthday party not too long ago. It was a formal affair, so there was obviously some shopping that needed to be done. We fumbled our way through tons of demos and finally settled on these two dresses – which we hope we’ll find an occasion to wear again! We’re both usually pretty casual in our day to day lives (SL and RL). It was really nice to get together with friends, some I haven’t seen in ages, probably even in another SLife! We chatted, danced, and mingled, but as usual, we ended up alone together, talking about our day while sharing a smoke. This post is weeks after the party, but I do wanna say “Happy Birthday” again to the birthday girl, Alicia. Thanks for the invite, Sophia! All photo editing credit goes to Millie, once again.   • Are you gonna go my way?

    It has been entirely too long since I updated! Lots and lots has been happening in my RL and I honestly haven’t had the ability, until recently, to even attempt to get back into the swing of this. Sis and I have decided just to keep this a casual blog about our adventures in Second Life together for now and this will probably be a short post. So, I have this app and one of my goals for today was to do something creative. Here goes.

    Today was a day I was really not feeling creative. It was more of a “I don’t even know what to do with myself day”. Basically, I fucked up. (shocking, I know) But, I really needed somebody today, and bless her heart, Millie was there for me the entire day, listening to me analyze myself into tears with the patience only a person who truly loves you can. She dragged me everywhere today. We were all over the place. We hit the weekend sales this morning and some of our favorite shops over the course of the day. I don’t even know all the places we went and some were side eye worthy, but whatever. I bought some stuff, moped around, and analyzed in her general direction all day. It was just a really tough day. It took most of the day, but I started to feel a bit more like myself. We decided we’d shopped enough and headed home, where we worked on our sim for awhile. I had been taking a break because I kinda burnt myself out on it, but it was actually really nice to get back to it again. While we were working, Millie decided none of the barns either of us have are barns she can work with…jk..sorta. Moving on, we started barn shopping. And let me tell you, there is no better way to spend your Saturday night than shopping for barns in Second Life. It was at this point she said to me “I’m too high now”, which if you know Millie, means, time to go home.

    So to home we go and we do what we do best when we have time and are too high to do anything else – take a pic and document our side quest! We used a barn we already had (face palm) and took this picture of us “gettin’ tf outta this dang town” as our teenaged selves would have most definitely done. I am so grateful to have found my twin sister, Millie (which sounds really strange, but this is Second Life, so that’s the least of our worries, right?)   • Ho, ho, ho – we are so donezo!

    Have you ever shopped ’til you dropped? Literally? We have. Bizzy and I spent three straight days over Black Friday weekend crisscrossing the grid, stopping at what felt like everywhere to check for sales and find the perfect gifts for our loved ones. We’re loving the festive vibes that we saw and that continue to pop up all over the place! To be fair, our shopping trip was *supposed* to be for stuff to help us changing seasons on our sim, but if you can believe it, we ended up all over the place. Side Quests galore. Side Quests for hair, clothes, skins, poses, cute holiday kitsch annd more have knocked us out. We’re ready for a cozy blanket and some hot cocoa.
